65cm Styria Ditch blade OLD STOCK

Original price was: £59.00.Current price is: £50.00.

Whilst clearing out our old stock room, we found a few Styria 65cm blades loitering at the back.

The blades have some rust marking under the lacquer from prolonged storage. These are otherwise good blades and the marking will have no long term impact on their function.

We are offering these slightly-less-then-perfect blades at a 15% discount.

Before first use, we recommend cleaning off any rust spots along the cutting edge (though they will sharpen off with use if you want to be really lazy about it!). This can be done with a Garryflex sanding block or emery cloth.

Any marking on the body of the blade can be left to wear off with time, or cleaned off in a similar manner to the edge.

NOTE – I have not photographed all the blades.

The marking varies blade to blade. Please look at all the product photos for an indication of the kind of marking the blades have.

Description

The 65cm Styria is our best selling scythe blade.

It can be used for mowing rougher grass, weeds, bracken and bramble, and on rough ground where there may be stones etc that would damage a finer blade.

When peened, it will also cut finer grasses and soft weeds and is useful in over-stood, tangled meadows – a truly multi-purpose blade.

The shorter length and tighter curve of the 55cm Styria blade is useful if you are mowing in more confined circumstances eg paths less than 3ft in width, or around similarly closely spaced trees or obstacles.

For an alternative shorter ditch blade have a look at the Falci 187 Short Ditch blade.

See the Styria 75cm blade if you are mowing mostly grass and green weeds over larger areas.

If you are cutting a lot of older, woodier brambles and tree suckers you might be better with a Fux Bush Blade or a Falci Bear.
