Description
For cleaning of blade, hammer and anvils in preparation for peening.
An excellent way to remove grass and sap staining and, should it be needed, rust from all metal surfaces.
The finer blocks are also used to “polish” the face of the hammer and anvil at frequent intervals when freehand peening.
See our Peening Guide for more information on all aspects of peening.
FAQs
We use the 60 grit block as standard (blue).
The finer gray 120 grit block is useful if you are free hand peening – it is used to finely “polish” the face of the hammer and anvil at frequent intervals.
The polished surface leaves a clearer mark on the blade making it easier to see where your hammer strikes are falling. While it costs slightly more then the blue block, it lasts a long time!
