Generally considered too coarse for regular in-field use, this stone is useful for speeding up sharpening of the blade edge after using a peening jig.
It can be used to repair small areas of damage in the blade edge.
In combination with a flat file, it can help reshape the blade edge in lieu of peening (though we’d rather you learnt to peen!).
