Description

It is useful to have a flat file in your scythe kit.

You can use it for:

Filing out small areas of damage to the blade edge, following up with a sharpening stone
Filing out small areas of damage and unevenness in the blade edge prior to standard peening
Filing out larger areas of damage and completing the repair with peening.
Reshaping the edge bevel to restore very thickened blades prior to peening, or in lieu of peening on blades used for rougher mowing.
