Want to immerse yourself in low impact living, but need some paid work alongside volunteering?
We are offering:
- a volunteering opportunity with Dyfed Permaculture Farm CIO
- part-time paid work in the scythe business
- simple accommodation, some food and lots of knowledge sharing
- free time to get to know our beautiful locality
Dyfed Permaculture Farm is a 28 acre smallholding in West Wales.
It is owned by an educational charity, with the aim of teaching people sustainable living skills whilst conserving and enhancing the biodiversity of the site.
Most of the management is carried out by hand. Through volunteering, you can help care for this special place, learn about scything, gardening, permaculture, hand haymaking, hand farming, animal care, low impact living, off grid electricity production and what ever else comes up!
There is also a rolling community of other summer residential volunteers for you to meet and enjoy being a part of.
Scythe Cymru is a business run from the farm.
We teach scything and sell scythes, both from the farm and via the internet.
In the busy spring and summer months we offer paid hours packing scythes for shipping. The number of hours varies depending on how busy we are.
This opportunity would suit a single person (or couple) who are:
- interested in learning skills for low impact living
- available to live and work with us for all or most of spring and summer 2025 (April / May – September).
This pdf contains more details about both the volunteering and work opportunity.
If you are interested, send us an email telling us about yourself.
We’ll send you more information and, if of mutual interest, we’ll arrange a time to chat. We are aiming to make a decision by the end of January 2025.
