Scythe Festivals and Events

The number of scythe related events grows every year.

A scythe festival is a great way to meet other scythers, learn more about the craft, cheer on the mowers in the competitions, and maybe even enter yourself.

Here’s a round up of the ones I know about. If there is any I have missed, let me know.

The Scything Festival

Northern Scythe Festival

Settle, N Yorkshire

The original and biggest of the British scythe festivals.

It is a fantastic opportunity to meet and chat with scythers from all over the UK and maybe even have a go in the mowing competitions. It is a very family friendly event, with a green fair running alongside to add extra interest.
