Description
Danny and Helene (of Hand Powered Traditional Land Based Skills) will take you through all the steps needed to learn how to craft a beautiful and functional wooden rake that can be used in the garden or meadow.
This course will cover:
- Material selection and species choice
- Clefting wood to ensure maximum strength
- Selecting materials for the rake handle (stail)
- Straighting the stail
- Cutting hard wood tines
- Use of brace and auger bits
- Assembly of rake – finishing and oiling
