Stone sheath, galvanized steel (water stained)
This box of stone sheaths got caught in a minor flood in our barn. The bottom layer of the box got damp, leading to some water damage on the zinc coating of the galvanized metal. The stone sheaths are perfectly functional, just a bit less shiny and smooth in patches (see photos). Grab a bargain – you’d pay a premium for patina like that on zinc planters in an upmarket Garden Center!😄.
Standard item description
All scythe sharpening stones are used wet. The stone sheath allows you to carry water and keep the stone wet when in the field.
It hangs on your belt so your stone is always close to hand, encouraging the frequent sharpening a scythe blade needs.
